A Second Opinion Who: Maria and Blythe When: Following Maria’s journal entry to Blythe Where: Maria’s room Rating: PG/PG-13 Warnings: None as of yet Summary: At the height of tension in Asgard, Maria offers to give Blythe a massage, as well as being an ear for her troubles.
Blythe hadn’t been able to sleep for days and very rarely was able to keep down food. At first, she’d blamed it on the pregnancy and its numerous side effects. But as tension in Asgard worsened, so did those effects. By the time she’d gone to bed last night, she’d been contemplating apologizing to Henry and figuring out to save Alessa – Alessa, who had made the last two months of her life a living hell. On top of that, her own partner was highly stressed, and spending time with him was becoming unpleasant for all the effort it took to hide how unwell she felt.
As angry as she was at everyone, she couldn’t help but feel she’d done this to herself. Even with the best of intentions, Blythe had unexpectedly and unintentionally dug herself into a hole that she couldn’t climb out of. And who would she allow to help her? Alessa, who was so torn by the actions of her brother and of his comforting words? Kain, who spent most days sparring and trying to protect Asgard? Henry, who was doing much the same as Kain, but who also had someone he cared about be attacked? Henry who was now her main concern.
It had seemed karma had a way of making things right, though, in the form of Maria. They weren’t very similar in terms of personality, but they weren’t offensively different. Blythe had a lot of respect for Maria, and this was a great contributor as to why she approved of her relationship with Reno. When the former resident of Silent Hill contacted her, concerned for her friend, Blythe thought she would burst into tears right there, so great was her relief. She made good time arriving at Maria’s door, despite how exhausted, pregnant, and, well, blind she was. As soon as she was sure she found the correct door, she knocked crisply, waiting for her friend to answer.
