This situation was getting more and familiar, and not in a good way. She wouldn't never enjoying feeling the chill creep through her entire body when Banru spoke with his false cheerfulness, having appeared once more from no where. All those insecurites about how foolish she had been before came flooding back.
The shudder worsened on hearing Taliypo somewhere behind her, but she didn't dare turn her head. Whethere it was knowledge it was a bad idea to do so or that her body was just unable to having frozen in place, she was unsure. It didn't matter though; she had just let herself fall into a trap again.
But no...she couldn't allow herself to falter. She had let herself do so too many times, let those she cared for fight and hurt themselves for her sake because she was too nice, too naive, so cowardly do it for herself. No, never again, not this time.
