The Weight of Friendship
Who: Alessa and Blythe
When: A week after the Trials and Alessa's encounter with Reno
Where: Alessa's room
Rating: PG
Warnings: None (as of yet)
Summary: Alessa's new personality and Alex's arrival have put a strain on Blythe, who is torn between going the distance to protect her friend and keeping her baby safe. Knowing that Alessa is her closest friend, the oracle decides to confront - and hopefully help - her.
It wasn't a secret that Blythe was a worrywart and spent most of her time being anxious about the wellbeing of others. She constantly fretted about the safety of her unborn child and of Kain, she over-prepared herself for Asgard's trial participants, and she was trying to keep her nose out of Niflheim's business (though that failed more often than not because she was a busybody, to be sure).
But if there was one thing Blythe was sure of, it was that Alessa - her closest friend in this world - wasn't the sort of person to be behaving as she was now. She knew of the other young woman's history; she knew of the violence, the religion, the mystery, and the complexity surrounding her. Most people would probably be driven away by the enigma that was Alessa, but it only made Blythe want to befriend her more. While at first, it may have been to satisfy her curiosity, the blind healer really did care about her friend, whether she was in physical or emotional distress.
Using her walking stick to guide her through the mansion, the healer stopped at Alessa's door and gathered her thoughts. This probably wouldn't be easy. Or maybe too easy, depending on what the other girl had in mind. Knocking, Blythe waited patiently for Alessa to come to the door.
