Balam laughed. He wasn't hurt by Dorian's frankness; he was relieved. He wouldn't be betraying Dorian if something happened, and Dorian wouldn't be betraying him - he wouldn't trust Dorian either. At least not entirely. He was glad that the mummy was smart enough to not take Balam at face value - which, despite his unfriendly appearance somehow led people like Yako into believing he was 'sweet' and worth her trust.
Balam shrugged. "I ain't a nice person, so I don't know." He'd done enough things to not count as that. "The truly nice people in Niflheim are probably there because they aren't as nice as they seem or because they're pretty much a beneficial tool for Lucifer to use somehow."
He leaned to one side, glancing at Dorian's bandages. "Are you really a...mummy, I think the word is, or did you just get badly burned in the greenhouse fire or somethin'?"
