Morana had only just gotten back to her room, after spending the best part of the day pouring over books in the library. However, she wasn't looking through her beginners reading material, or the fairytales she enjoyed so much. Her focus has been self help books, namely ones that were supposed to help her...how did Alessa put it...grow a spine?
Well, not literally, she knew that much, she had asked about the expression after all. Apparently she needed to, 'be more assertive' 'fight back' and not 'not be pushed around', at least that was what some of these doctors in the books said. Still, despite all their rambling advice, Morana was still stumped as to what she was supposed to do.
Sighing, the tribal girl walked over to her bed, and placed the books on the table nearby, falling down onto the mattress. Why was this so hard? All those big confusing words had made her head ache. Maybe she should read something else for a while. Perhaps one of those novels Brandy had mentioned...
"Oh, God, oh, God - Morana? Honey, are you there? It's Mommy!"
Jumping in fright, the quickly looked around, but saw no sign of the other female, leaving her baffled...until she noticed her communicator, he seashell, was displaying an image in midair.
Was that Brandy? And why was she...
"Look, honey, Mommy's in trouble. That Flauros demon, he...he...He hurt me, and I'm so scared now! I don't know - I don't, ugh, I don't know if you'll get this message - stupid computer - but I need your help!"
Morana heard the rest of the broadcast loud and clear, but it barely registed in her mind. What did hit home was how tattered and torn her teammate was, ans the frightening creature standing behind her.
The message barely had time to end before the girl had sprung up from the bed, ran out of the room, and raced down the corridor towards the room of the only other person she could talk to. After all, she didn't think Flauros was joking around with his threats
"E-Eil-leen! E-Eil-leen, ar-re y-you th-ther-re?" she called as she knocked her fist against the door in panic.
