Sal lip curled into a sneer of a grin as the webcam reflected her face in the video on the screen. "I'm damn sure you wouldn't let me, cornpuff." Her mouse hovered over the Play button. "Now shut up for a second, I need to get in character."
Half-mockingly, Sal closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Three seconds later she opened them, and her entire body language changed. Brandy pressed the play button.
"Oh, God, oh, God - Morana? Honey, are you there? It's Mommy!" She frantically rubbed at the blood on her face, her voice shrill and betraying fear, as though she'd just gotten over a traumatic experience. "Look, honey, Mommy's in trouble. That Flauros demon, he...he..." Cue bursting into tears. "He hurt me, and I'm so scared now! I don't know - I don't, ugh, I don't know if you'll get this message - stupid computer - but I need your help! He said he'd let me go only if I did exactly what he said! He said I could only ask two people to save me. Please, Morana - please save Mommy! And Eileen, get Eileen! She's so nice and she'll know what to do! And he said...he said if you tell anyone, he'll kill me. I don't want to die - I'm still young and fertile! You'll find us outside of the barber shop on Carson Street. And - and bring me some new shoes, he scuffed mine up!" Wiping her eyes, she paused. "You're such a bastard, Ally-poo!"
With that, Brandy swiveled the webcam image around to record the demon. Brandy mouthed the words look scary and clawed her hands as if to immitate a werewolf. Five seconds later, she pressed the Pause button and saved the recording.
