Re: Front Porch of Asgard
Though Blythe was rendered speechless by Kain's fairly stupid, if thoughtful, actions, the look she gave him after he handed her the few items he'd managed to save more than made up for all of the trouble. The smile that had faltered moments ago came back, a bit stronger than before. He even managed a small chuckle that turned into a small coughing fit, once Blythe finally spoke up. Even as everything she had worked for for nearly a year burned to the ground, she was concerned for him. The dragoon was at once both touched and saddened.
It was probably for the best that she hadn't hugged him, seeing as what armor he hadn't removed yet would still be quite hot from the fire. He set about removing it, at least from his upper body, even as he continued his coughing. He couldn't stand the heat for even a moment longer, and now that he had delivered her things, he could take the time to remove some of his armor. "N-not very. I'll be f-" a cough. "...Fine. I didn't get burned while I was inside. I...probably inhaled quite a bit of smoke, but I'll live."
As soon as he was done speaking he had peeled away the last of the armor from his arms, and feeling quite a bit cooler already, he let out a short sigh and looked back over at Blythe. "I couldn't very well allow myself t-to-" another cough. "To die in there with you waiting for me."
