Blythe didn't even need to ask. "Of course," Kain murmured, a grin still fixed to his face. "I'm not going anywhere."
No one could mistake Kain for the friendliest, most uplifting man around. But he was not completely inept in the art of comforting someone, especially if that someone was Blythe. While he had no idea how much he was truly helping, he was very relieved that Blythe seemed to be feeling a bit better.
Attempting to lighten the mood a bit more, Kain clicked his tongue and spoke. "It's a damn shame, though. Cecil and Rosa are never going to believe that I managed to to get a lover as wonderful as you all on my own. They'll suspect some sort of trickery."
Kain's tone was laced with mirth, though not overly so, and he gave her hand a squeeze.
