All he'd said was her name, and that was most they'd spoken to one another in three days. Truthfully, his voice brought her a shade of comfort, but she could barely speak for all the emotions bubbling up in her.
"Hi." She managed to say. Anything longer, and she'd be choking on her own voice. Again, he kept his distance. He was good at that. Usually, it wouldn't bother her, but in the state she was in, she was a fair bit more vulnerable to such actions (or lack of). She thought of how Ryuzaki had been afraid of her, asking her not to kill him. Did Kain fear she would kill him, even though she was back to her normal self?
Finding it hard to breathe again, she shifted away from him and slid to the floor, leaning her head against the wooden pillar, once more closing her eyes.
