Recoiling, L took a step back. Alessa was confrontational, even by his very liberal standards. With his personal history, he did not react well to threats of physical violence, even though he'd gotten very good at distancing himself from those feelings. Was everyone completely ignorant? Couldn't they see that he had Blythe's best interests at heart?
"Firstly, I am not a moron," L said, narrowing his eyes. "Second... who gave you authority to send me to my room and demand my silence?" characteristically, L resented authority figures, especially ones who were in power because of advantages beyond their control. L knew a bit about Alessa from the day he could see her memories, but as far as he was concerned, she was a pawn, like him, in this cosmic game.
"I'll do that... if you give me a satisfactory reason. It is a fair request, since I am involved and have seen the state she's in."
