Re: The Garden Maze, 10:00 P.M.
Kain didn't have to run far before he heard voices, two voices that he instantly recognized. His blood ran cold as he realized that Blythe was talking to Ryuzaki. It would be easy for her to trick him. He quickened his pace, his breath misting in front of him in the cold. He was only wearing a light sweater, seeing as he hadn't planned to be trudging through the snow.
It wasn't long before he caught sight of them, his eyes long since having adjusted to the darkness. Immediately he caught sight of Blythe throwing a jacket and scarf at Ryuzaki. Before he could call out, the healer bolted toward the maze, which both baffled and relieved the dragoon. At least now they wouldn't have to fight her off of yet another victim.
"Blythe, wait!" Kain shouted, dashing after her and not sparing Ryuzaki a second glance. Even if she didn't appear to be attempting to sacrifice people anymore, she still didn't seem to be in her right mind yet.
He glanced back at the two women with him, skidding to a halt at the mouth of the maze. He took a deep breath and looked into the maze, taking in the many different branching paths. Due to the hedges, it was far too dark to make out any tracks in the snow. Kain suppressed the urge to let out a short snarl of frustration as he raked a hand through his bangs.
"We need to split up. We'll cover more ground that way." He said, starting down the left path.
