Kain had taken a position behind Blythe, leaning against the wall and watching her hands. In all honesty, he deeply regretting having to strike her, even if it was probably the only thing that could have been done at the time. But the night was almost over, and then they would all be able to move on from this. He was quite surprised that Morana had opted to join them, but it certainly couldn't hurt to have another pair of eyes on Blythe.
When she began to stir, he tensed up, prepared for anything...or at least he thought, until she started sobbing. After a moment of surprise, he fixed his eyes on her hands, frowning and crossing his arms. While he hadn't been able to see her face, it was clear that her shoulders were shaking, and her pitiful exclamations and whimpering were hard to ignore. His stomach twisted with guilt, though he knew that if she were loose she would once again be trying to kill people.
The gravity of the fact that she had to go through this every year was beginning to sink in, and Kain had no idea how she could handle it.
