Truth was, she felt pathetic. There was a chance she could have died, and yet...she did nothing. She chose not to defend herself, all because of her own cowardice.
Would she always be this worthless? Were all her efforts to control her powers worth anything if she couldn't even muster the strength to use her voice when needed? What if it was someone else was in danger, would she falter then too, and perhaps cost someone she cared about their life?
She couldn't be that person, not now, not ever again.
