Kain swiftly got to his feet, once it seemed as though the situation was getting out of hand. He didn't understand what Alessa meant by already having been a sacrifice before, and probably never would, but he had to stop this before it got any worse.
"That's enough! Both of you!" He barked, casting a stern glare between Alessa and Blythe. It was a sad state of affairs when Kain had to be the voice of reason. He let out a short, disgruntled sigh, shifting his gaze solely to Alessa.
"Bickering is not going to help anyone. She isn't in her right mind, and for all we know this could be a trick to try and goad us into getting upset with her."
That said, Kain crossed his arms, looking more annoyed than anything. For someone as easily goaded into fights as he was, even he could sense the danger in giving in to his knee-jerk reaction to fight back. Blythe was either trying to upset them as a distraction, or she was just totally out of her mind. Either way, it was best not to get too wrapped up in what she said.
