"Alessa isn't very popular on our side," said Eileen. That wasn't exactly true; people seemed to like her fine and she could remember Alesa talking to a people on the boards and at the last party. But the last thing she wanted to do was name them, when all it would mean was that Sal would go kidnap someone else.
"Like I said, she keeps to herself. She's kind of, I don't know, stuck up." That wasn't really what Eileen thought either, but she hoped she was making it sound convincing.
After saying it, she winced slightly and braced herself for the knife.
