Henry's puzzlement only grew. If Sal seemed to know a good deal about Walter and Valtiel already, didn't he already know the answer to that question? Or did he just want Henry to say it, to admit he had the capacity to be a murderer?
"I'd do it all the same if I had to do it again," Henry finally said, his grip tightening on his axe. This time it had nothing to do with Sal, and more the memory of Walter and the fight against him. Him and his 'god'.
He hated himself for it, but that's how it was. Sometimes bad things had to happen for the greater good. Sometimes good people had to do bad things.
