This would explain why Blythe always seemed so terse with him any time he mentioned Lina. He had always assumed it was because the two disliked each other greatly, but it was clear from her actions and words that it was more than that.
Kain was still a bit too shocked by this turn of events for his temper to flare, so Blythe's suddenly cold demeanor and slight jabs didn't strike him as they normally might have.
As she attempted to get passed him, he grabbed her arm, just below the elbow, to stop her in her tracks.
"Just wait a minute." Kain began, his voice now totally devoid of any of the levity it had held just moments before, and for once it seemed as though he was the one doing the scolding. "Do you honestly believe that I would seek you out specifically if I had any...feelings for Lina? She is a comrade, nothing more."
