'This is so awkward,' Mitchell thought as he 'swaggered' into the ballroom in black polished boots. He tugged on the "floofy" hat he had borrowed from Dorian in order to hide the telltale, messy red hair. His costume was of a pirate captain, complete with an extravagant blue coat finished with silver filigree and black pants. The white shirt beneath extended into ruffles around his hands; meanwhile around his waist, there was a matching silver sash (which luckily did not sparkle) and a rapier. The mask was done in simple black and trimmed with silver.
He knew that no matter how nice and fancy his costume could be, there was no hiding the firestarter. Not really, especially, Mitch knew, when he opened his mouth.
The ballroom looked fantastic! His favorite part had to be the invisible orchestra. The shining moon above them was a hundred times better than a normal, cheesy disco ball, and as Mitch walked across the floor, caught a nearby floating glass devil as a keepsake for the best Halloween ever. He jumped when he passed the shadowy figure with the helmet, but gave the person a smile for the thrill.
Everyone else was dressed and in the spirit, it seemed. (For the moment, he had his back on Morana, Henry, and Eileen). Before he went to mingle with the others, Mitch went straight over to Metatron, who dressed up as the classic hero Robin Hood. "Great job," he greeted the angel. "On the costume. And the ballroom, too! You and the others did awesome."
Even with the mask, one could tell that there was something on Mitch's mind with how he anxiously, slowly, leaned back and forth from one foot to the other. "Could I ask ya a favor...?"
