Again, Morana did hear something, but it was so quiet she was sure she had just imagined it. Instead, she looked around, and finally saw what she was looking for a short distances away.
Rushing forward, she came into a clearing amongst the thick forest, looking up to see the sunlight breaking through a thinner part of the tall leafy foliage. The earth was a lot softer here, a smaller, younger tree tahn the rest in the area sprouting up from the ground, even having a few small wildflowers growing up around it, reaching towards the light above; the perfect spot.
Carefully seating herself at the base of the tree, she untied the bundle, looking at the items spread before her. On picking up a sharpened stone, she took it in her fist, holding in tight, ready to begin to pave her way to atonement, as she stabbed it into the bark of the tree.
