Summary: Maria's looking to get out more and Blythe just needs to loosen up. When Maria offers some help, Blythe accepts, and they decide to get together in the blind woman's living quarters. Eileen, too, decides to stop by and visit.
Things had been stressful - almost suffocating. Once she and Ryuzaki had initiated their private courting, events had skyrocketed out of their control. If she hadn't already been on edge enough, Light's threats and the constant concerns for her safety were almost enough to push her off a cliff. She'd snapped at people who'd meant well and dismissed affairs that otherwise would have been important to her. She wasn't angry and she wasn't upset. The problem was that she was frightened out of her wits more than half the time - for Ryuzaki, for the new members of Asgard, even sometimes for herself.
Luckily, Maria, a woman Blythe barely knew, offered to provide a massage. While Blythe would usually decline, she couldn't resist the suggestion. She was loathe to admit that the others were right: she did take on too much responsibility for one person. Having Maria come over, to help her relax and to even talk, was a blessing in disguise. Even she wasn't so foolish as to pass that up.
Waiting for Maria to come, Blythe prepared some chamomile tea and honey and laid the mugs out on her nightstand. Other than Alice and Una, she didn't have many close female friends, though she'd intended on getting to know Eileen more. And before them, the only girl she'd ever had as a friend was her backstabbing older sister. Needless to say, it was not a good precedent.
Patient and yet anxious, she waited at her dresser, copying down notes from the day's studies in the greenhouse, anticipating Maria's arrival.
