"You can find all the food ya want here, no worries," Mitch assured her. "Lemme just pull out some things... see if anything looks good to you."
Before he let all the cold out from the fridge, he grabbed everything that one might want for a sandwich, because he figured that it was perhaps slightly safer than actually cooking (though he could nuke almost anything in the microwave and still make the food edible). Cold cut meats, lettuce, tomatos, jars of pickles, grape and strawberry jams. He spread all that out on the counter, then grabbed some loaves of bread from a breadbox.
"Oh, and here's more in the cabinent," he said, showing her where that was, too. It contained things like boxes of uncooked noodles, cans, and other foods even Mitch didn't recognize yet. From here he grabbed some peanut butter, honey, and crackers.
"What kinds of things did you eat where you lived?" Mitch wanted to make sure that she could find something she liked.
