Who: Souji and OTA Where: Asgard; training area When: Morning of Souji's third day Rating: PG for now? Warnings: None as of yet Summary: Souji simply wishes to relieve some stress, and perhaps get something somewhat resembling a routine.
He hadn't slept particularly well for the two nights he had spent here thus far, but that didn't come as a surprise to him. His sleeping pattern in Kyoto hadn't been great, either, but despite the fact that he couldn't say he felt brilliant, he definitely couldn't say he felt worse. Although it had only been two days, he had found the distinct lack of routine frustrating, and it was odd (if that were the right word to use) not to have Matsumoto visit him of a morning, nor have Hijikata enquire as to how he was feeling. He found the whole fuss quite unnecessary, really and whilst he was pleased to be rid of it, it was strange.
After it being mentioned about others training, Souji had come to the conclusion that there must be a suitable training area, and had set about finding it. It would be strange, also, not to have anyone to spar against, but it wasn't something that was entirely difficult to get used to. He would simply run through movements, practice against an opponent only he could see, for example. Unsheathing his sword, he studied it for a few moments, before setting about his practice. Swordplay was as much an art as it was a form of attack, and a form of defence. It would be naive to believe that all members of the Shinsengumi were exceptionally skilled swordsman (Inoue had proved that, after all), but they could, at least, hold their own.
He did hope, though, that training, even by himself, would help relieve some of the tension he had felt about being here. He was feeling unnaturally serious and uptight, and whilst he understood why, it wasn't something he was fond of feeling.
