L understood Blythe's silence, though he wished he could have heard the words back. He knew that it would be a terrible thing, to expect such a leap of faith from his cherished one when she'd already given him so much.
But... there was little doubt that she felt the same, or near it. So securely did she hold him that he was reassured blissfully of the completeness they shared together. Lying horizontally, and wrapped up in each other like a single entity, L knew that neither of them were alone.
He wished that she could see him, see the adoration in his eyes... but maybe her blindness was a good thing. Others... like Kain, maybe, might have laughed, if they knew that such a beautiful woman was sleeping in the arms of such a scrawny child of a man. L was so happy, though, that he would have laughed right back at them.
