Any and all doubts seemed to slip away every time their lips reconnected. At first, she'd been soaked in them - the unsurities, the hesitance - and suddenly it just stopped. It was as if her brain had finally decided to stop working and everything else picked up where it dropped off. For this, she was eternally grateful, because thinking and kissing at the same time was challenging.
She liked this. Wondered why she hadn't done this before. Not that there had been anyone to kiss on Neverwas. But she revelled in it - the taste, the texture, the scents pouring off his body. It was exhilerating to simply feel.
They were lying down more now, finally off of all elbow crutches. But they were still very much wound together. She caught the 'I love you' between kisses and wanted so badly to say it back. But was she ready for that? They were such strong words and she hadn't even imagined saying them in ten years. For now she was content on just kissing and being kissed, sure that she would say it to him, she just needed to work up the courage. It wasn't him and it wouldn't ever be. She just needed to grow.
Rather than say the words back, she wound her arms around him tighter, hoping this got things across as she pressed closer to him. Tonight, indeed, would be a good night.
