L flinched slightly when Blythe touched his foot. Actually, he couldn't remember the last time someone had touched his foot... it felt so strange, as if his natural reflex was to start moving. It hurt, but not too badly, just like she'd said.
Then, with a wet popping sound, she presumably reset the bone. L clenched his teeth, thinking of mounds and mounds of drowned kittens. Because, like an expert salesman, his mind was presenting in slideshow format a series of suggestions for what to do next. L didn't think that Blythe would appreciate any of them.
And then she asked how it felt, God have mercy on his pathetic soul. "FFFFFffffffan-TAS-tic," L replied stiffly, "Yes. Yes, you definitely fixed it... it feels much better, now.... you can fix anything," he said just then, his tone changing suddenly to soft and earnest.
