Midvalley's sentimental reaction didn't fly over Sal's head. In fact, the asexual being almost fell sorry for him. It must have been excrutiating when loneliness really set in to someone who was used to being around others. As Sal had never been anything other than 'lonely' - not that he would have ever considered himself as such - so he was biased, and heavily so.
He figured the same had to be true of Jazz. They really were a pair of lost souls.
Sal almost laughed.
"Alright. Alright." He shook his head, all of his amusement tucked behind his tongue. "I'll try to lay off the queer jokes. Just, in return, lay off of me. I'll feel sorry for you, you'll feel sorry for me. Sound peachy?"
