Granny stood back, biting her lip and gazing motherly at L. Not two minutes out on her own and the old woman was already attempting to nurse a man about whom she knew nothing. She clasped her hands together.
"Oh, do forgive me, it's in my nature, I fear." she explained. "You see, it is my gift to soothe and to tend to others. Not a healer, per say, but a caretaker of sorts. And, my, it is only my intention to keep young sprites like you healthy."
She refrained from asking him to take his thumb out of his mouth. Rather, she smiled one last time before sitting down. "Oh, these old bones. I'm not much for walking around. How old are you, L?"
