L tried, but was unable to contain, an affected little shudder. Himself still young, L was deeply bothered by contemplating old age too much. He'd never truly considered his handler, Watari, "old"... though the day he'd first started to notice that mothball, sickly-sweet odor and the elderly man's tendency to forget things easily had been disquieting, to say the least.
Granny frightened him, just a bit. Not so much her wrinkly, wisened appearance, but the impression L got that she'd lived over three times as long as he had, and that she was entitled to believe that she knew more. And people like that were the most difficult to convince when it came to matters they disagreed with. Plus, she was a woman, which would amplify that considerably.
"Hm..." L cleared his throat, inclining his head slightly as though unsure how much formality was typical for this type of situation. "Nice to meet you too... Granny?" Did she really go by that?
