L was encouraged by Quigby's reception to the return-quote. "It really is a saying, isn't it?" he commented, thinking about how he'd spent an entire day once contemplating them. L couldn't have taken Quigby's words as an insult if he'd tried to; he agreed wholeheartedly that you could judge a person far more easily on their active passions than their words.
"I mean them to ring true," L said, holding Quigby's gaze to communicate his earnestness. "I've come up with some ideas to fortify Asgard against attacks... and I'm hoping that people take them seriously. It's... it's very frustrating, to be here among people who have no reason to trust me," L said suddenly. "I'm not used to being questioned... and it's affecting the way I relate to others." he started slightly at Quigby's last comment. Grow up? Well... it wasn't a bad ambition... L should probably aspire to that, on some level. "Let me know if there's anything I can do to support that, Dorian," L said seriously.
