L's response lifted Quigby's spirit in ways that couldn't be outright explained. Here L was thinking he was being annoying - if Quigby knew that, he would have been quick to blow that thought to smithereens. As it stood, however, he was not blind-sighted by any negative energy from L, and knew of no reason to assure the man otherwise.
"What a saying, what a saying!" The man exclaimed. "It is quite suiting to you, I do say. There is such an educated mind to you, and it is indeed so very refreshing. From that one quotation, I may have learned more of you than any answer you could forthright give." While that may have come across as some degree of insult, Quigby as Dorian meant in the highest regard.
"Oh, yes, yes, such words to say." He murmured. "A war, of all things. A war. I must admit, you words ring especially true for us. These past weeks we have cowered and silenced ourselves to the corner of our room - our fears do penetrate us so. But we as a collective have decided that it is time for us to...ah, grow up." Quigby ended sheepishly.
