L jumped slightly when Dorian's more dignified form suddenly started clapping his hands. "Ah... yes, yes, the room with the music," L repeated, nodding warily and continuing to chew his fingertip. People were seldom so... animated, around him. Usually either perplexed or amazed, but never animated.
L thought that he could understand, wanting to remain in the body you knew as your own. It was just a material set of outside organic sensors and meat, but a body was a very, very personal thing. He couldn't think of a way to articulate his thoughts about this to Dorian in a way that wasn't cruel or insensitive, though, so he didn't try. When Dorian asked if his more attractive form should be used more often, though, L was astonished by how much his opinion seemed to suddenly mean to the hapless creature. "I don't know if it would be better," he said truthfully. "In some ways, maybe, but if you see so much value in the truth of your appearance and nature, you're probably wiser than most people. Therefore, more capable of deciding that for yourself."
