"Oh, really?" Kain smiled at her response. "That's good to know." He had no trouble imagining Blythe as a wife and mother. She was stern, and somewhat quick tempered, but fair and caring. At the mention of family, he held in a sigh. He was sorely tempted to just avoid the question, but since she was sharing so much with him, he figured he might as well just tell her.
"Well...I never knew my mother. She died in childbirth. My father was a great man, the Commander of The Dragoons and a fierce warrior. He died in battle when I was very young." Though he was recounting what should have been sad events in his life, it was obvious that he was glowing with pride. "After that, I was taken in by the King of Baron. He raised me as his own, along with Cecil."
He chuckled once he finished, pulling himself free of his nostalgia. "I'm sorry, that must have been a bit depressing."
