If Kain had to choose one word to describe everything he was feeling as soon as he recovered from the initial shock of it, it would have been WHAT in big, blazing black letters above his head for everyone at the party to see. As it was, the only response Ryuzaki got to his advances was Kain back peddling away from him faster than a thief in a room full of white mages.
There probably would have been a more explosive, violent reaction if Blythe hadn't intervened at just that moment. He didn't think he'd even been more grateful for the woman's presence. Still, he didn't think he'd be able to stick around Ryuzaki much longer, all things considered.
"Well, it's been a...pleasure." Kain said awkwardly, giving Blythe a small bow, totally ignoring Ryuzaki. "I think I'll...go feed my chocobo."
With that, Kain turned on his heel and strode away as fast as he could.
