Frank sighed inwardly. All he had wanted was for Glitch to dance, and he hadn't even thought about the man's clothes. Frank hadn't danced since... he couldn't remember. He had somehow gotten out of it even at James's wedding. Probably Judith was the last person he had danced with.
But Miss Elliot was being so nice about it there was no way he could refuse at this point without looking extremely rude. And he... well, if he were a younger man he would certainly have wanted to dance with her.
Frank tried to smile through his nervousness.
"That's very kind of you, Miss Elliot. I'm... not sure I know any dances from your time... or any at all... but... it's kind of you to want to dance with me."
He took her hand. "I'll try not to step on your feet, at least."
