“If that was the case, then we have a whole new set of questions to consider. If Patrick had powers too, what were they? What kind of effect did they have on him? And you told me before that it was your brother’s death that caused your powers to awaken. If a traumatizing event is required, then what was it that awoke your brother’s powers?” L chewed on his thumbnail for a moment, mulling over this new bit of information.
He then let out a small “hn…” as he lowered his eyes in thought. It wasn’t just Patrick he was interested in, but Gabriel’s involvement as well. It couldn’t be a coincidence that someone who just happened to look like Flauros sister was meeting with the brother of the very person he would end up acting as guardian demon to… But that would mean that two people in opposition with one another had been guardians to the two siblings. Had the detective been in Flauros’s position, he would have tried to somehow attack Gabriel through them. The question was if Flauros gone that far?
As things stood right now Flauros seemed to be more of a physical threat than anything, but L wasn’t going to underestimate him. Afterall he had no investment in Niflheim’s victory so it was likely he wasn’t trying too hard. Besides, questioning him was talking to a professional criminal. He knew how to avoid answers. And if he really was capable of making such accurate predictions on humanity while he was trapped in that pyramid, then it could be assumed he was not a stupid person.
