“Yes, there still might be hope.” L nodded before resting his chin on his arms. It was little, but better than nothing, and Rachel seemed to be doing a little better knowing this. He just wished he could give her more.
He had purposefully avoided questioning Flauros regarding Rachel’s brother as it would suggest a connection between the two of them. But he had thought that since the man had served as her guardian demon after he had died, he might know something more on the matter.
L remained in the beanbag chair while he waited for Rachel to return. There was very little he could do or say to help her on the matter. He felt saddened by it, but he could not relate very well to the grief she was experiencing.
When she returned and sat down L hesitantly placed a hand on her back in hopes that it would provide her with some comfort. “I am not sure what how he got into that state of mind that day, but he had never intended to hurt you so much.”
