Who: Elanna and OPEN
When: Late the night of her arrival
Where: Asgard
What: Elanna is hungry
Rating: PG? PG-13?

Elanna walked through the hallways of Asgard, wringing her hands nervously as she looked around. She was becoming quite hungry, and that was more of a concern with every passing moment. The kitchen, while nice and apparently well stocked, was clearly set up for humans, or those who ate similarly. It didn't have anything to offer to her kind. She hadn't seen anyone for a while either, and she didn't know where to find any live animals. She could go outside and look around some, but the idea made her a little uneasy. This was all unfamiliar territory for her. She didn't think she would get lost as long as she paid attention to where she was, but the thought of wandering around outside alone... She wasn't even sure there were any animals to be found nearby.

Of course, she doubted whether her teammates would be willing to give her any of their blood. But if she found another person, she would at least have someone to keep her company and tell her where she might find an animal to feed from.

Lilly had been up all night studying something in the library, namely anything she could find out about Lucifer; a venture that was proving tiring. Feeling frustrated, and tired, Lilly yawned. Scrubbing her face with her hand, she shut book, and put it up. Soon after she heard footsteps outside. It couldn't be George, they sounded much too light, and besides, he was probably out hunting God knows what.

So she inched closer to the door, listening as the foot steps grew louder. Whomever was outside was female. Lilly racked her brain over who it could be. Tohru wasn't known to be up this late; she hadn't seen Rachel in a while; she picked off people one by one until she finally opened the door.

And came face to face with a redhaired woman. An unfamiliar redhead at that. Remaining calm, Lilly looked at her, "Either you're an insomniac, or your looking for a midnight snack," she said sincerely.

Elanna jumped slightly as another woman appeared suddenly from a doorway, then visibly relaxed. As startling as her appearance had been, Elanna was more than grateful to have another person around.

"Ah, this is a normal time for me to be awake, but I am hungry..." Her eyes fell on the woman's neck and she briefly licked her lips, noticing her teeth becoming more pointed. Stop that. She needed to find an animal.

"Um..." She paused, realizing that even the question she would ask might sound strange to someone who probably had never met a Vrykola before. "Do you know where I might find a living animal?"

Normal time to be awake, the fact that her neck was being looked at, and that the woman was licking her lips was indication enough to Lilly that this woman was a vampire, or a Vrykola; Lilly had watched the journals when she was doing her research. "You must be Elanna, detective Lilly Rush," she introduced herself, offering a hand.

"There's a pet shop in the middle of town, but I don't like going there at night. You never know who you could bump into." She looked at the woman, and let out a concerned sigh,

"Oh, yes, I am." She took the offered hand. "I'm sorry, I should have introduced myself. It's nice to meet you, Lilly."

Thinking about the pet shop, Elanna frowned. That didn't sound like a very appealing prospect.

"I'm not sure whoever owns the pet shop would be too happy with me coming in, anyway," she replied with a nervous sort of chuckle. But what to do? If there weren't any animals nearby... She glanced at Lilly, again, then shifted her gaze toward the floor.

"I really need to find an animal, or... a person would work, if... I mean. Would you mind if I... um..."

"Nobody owns anything in that town; it sort of just runs itself somehow," Lilly explained, "so nobody would be in the pet shop."

Still it was dark, and Lilly was faced with a difficult decision. Either they could go out to Emptiness, and risk getting attacked, or shot by some hunter with a huge ego, or Lilly could let Elanna feed from her. Neither option was appealing, but the latter one might be safer.

"Will it effect me? You, feeding from me?" Lilly finally asked with concern in her voice.

The town ran itself? How very odd. Of course, she couldn't focus too much thought on that at the moment. When Lilly asked about effects, she sounded concerned, but at least it seemed like she might be willing. Elanna could at least be grateful that Lilly had understood what she was asking, since she hadn't exactly been speaking clearly about it. She shook her head.

"It shouldn't, I mean, it might hurt a little bit, but it shouldn't be too bad, and you might get a little lightheaded. But if you do, you'll be fine again pretty quickly. I've fed from humans before and they've never had any problems."

There was definitely a look of concern on Lilly's face. On one hand the idea of being fed from didn't appeal to her all that much. On the other hand, this was a new teammate who needed to eat, and Lilly wasn't so adverse to pain. She could tell the woman about George, and hope that maybe he'd eat too much of him.

Oh God, what the hell was she thinking? Still the fantasy played through her mind. She continued to think before finally rolling up her sleeve, and exposing her wrist. "Make it quick, and tell nobody."

Elanna watched Lilly hopefully as she seemed to debate whether she really wanted to let Elanna have any of her blood. She would understand if not; she'd met plenty of humans who were disturbed by the concept. That would certainly leave her in a predicament, though. She might be able to find that pet shop, but if Lilly didn't go, she wouldn't have any idea where to look and she didn't want to go alone anyway, and with Lilly standing right there in front of her, it was getting hard to think about trying to find another food source. When Lilly offered her wrist, Elanna was visibly relieved. Rather than saying anything in reply, she simply nodded, then took Lilly's wrist and pierced it with her teeth.

Oh sweet food! She started feeling better almost immediately, and a few moments (which likely seemed a bit shorter to her than to Lilly) later, she was satiated. She pulled away gently, giving the wound a couple of licks to help it heal. She licked the leftover blood off of her teeth, then gave Lilly a rather timid but grateful look.

"Thank you."

As soon those teeth pierced through the skin, and into the veins, Lilly let out an audible hiss of pain. It hurt, but the pain soon subsided, and the blond just watched with a curious fascination as this woman fed from her. She again wondered why she was doing this, but told herself it was to help.

Well, that and Lilly couldn't deny that something about this felt sort of nice, It made her feel alive in a strange way.

When Elanna finished, and licked the wound for some reason, Lilly did feel a little light-headed, so she sat down.

"You're welcome."
