Dean saw the look in her eyes when she said she didn’t want to go back to the Pod. Nodding in agreement, he gently sat her down on his bed while he bustled around. “Sure, I can get you some things to wear. I think I have a coupla new toothbrushes here somewhere too, so I can toss one in the bag for you. And you’re right about going back. Someone would find something for you to do and then I’d have to cut their head off. Which is all pretty messy! Best we just leave from here.”
He threw some things into a large bag and held his hand out to her. “Before we go, I just want you to know that if you…well...change your mind about this or anything, you just have to say. I would never force you into anything. I mean, not that I could but…you know what I mean?”
He hoped she wouldn’t change her mind. His was in the gutter right now and if she suddenly decided she didn’t want this, then it was going to be a long, frustrating night. But he could deal with that. This didn’t have to be rushed.
