He kissed her back, sliding a hand round her head to cradle it. Breaking their kiss was as hard as it had been the first time and he sat back with a sigh. “So, that’s the nasty stuff outta the way…I hope. Unless there’s something else you’re not tell me…you know…like, I dunno, you’re into country music or something! You get it? The real scary stuff!”
He grinned and took her hands again. “Seriously though, your past is your past. Same as mine. That’s why some relationships could be so damned good never get off the ground. People spend too much time stressing about what happened years ago. I don’t wanna make that mistake. This whole thing…the city, the job, where I live…it’s all a new start for me. And I’d kinda like you to be part of it.”
