Buffy looked up at him as he attempted to really recall the night he shared with Faith. To her surprise, it seemed as though maybe he had been too drunk to actually do anything with her or if he had, it wasn't very memorable. Well, hey, that was something, at least. She smiled almost shyly as he kissed her head before dashing off to get another round of drinks.
Despite the bit of relationship baggage they both brought to the table, it seemed like they were both really willing to look past it. So, all in all, she thought this night was going better than she thought it might. Especially when Riley had never been able to get over the Angel thing when she was with him. So, for Dean to just breeze past it, knowing that it was simply a part of her life that she couldn't change...well, that was something.
As he returned to the table, she met his eyes, surprised as he took her hands. She nodded to his words, "I know," she said, stroking his palm lightly with her thumb, "Don't worry. It's really okay. I'm just happy you're fine with all of my crazy life stuff, too." She sat up slightly as she leaned forward, pressing her lips to his.
