Dean was surprised she’d been so open about Angel. While he had expected her to mention him, he certainly hadn’t expected her to be so forthcoming about their relationship. It made him smile though…this could be even better than he’d thought it might if she was willing to tell him things like that. He reached over the table and put his hand over hers. “I know about Angel. I know about Spike too so don’t think you need to torture yourself by going through it all. I don’t mean to sound arrogant here or anything but it doesn’t matter to me. I’m not sitting here thinking that you think I might run screaming for the hills or anything, but I just want you to understand that it doesn’t make any difference. What’s passed is passed. I’m only interested in what could be in the future.”
He took a deep breath and swallowed hard. “That’s if we actually have any future when I spill my guilty secret.” It was made all the worse because it was obvious that there was no love lost between faith and Buffy. He could vividly recall the things the brunette had said about Buffy that night. He could only hope it wouldn’t kill this thing they might just have before it even had a chance to start properly.
“So…a while ago…maybe a year or so, I was in a bar and I met this girl. We hooked up, spent the night together. I meant nothing to either of us, just a one-night stand and I haven’t seen her since. Buffy…it was Faith.”
