EEP! Sorry, I went in and started screwing everything up! lmao
But Doyle didn't sit down, because he was just not especially convinced that he'd need to. Angel spoke as he worked at releasing Doyle from his bonds, and though Doyle didn't believe what Angel said, he still didn't like the sound of it. He didn't like hearing the part, again, about how he was dead, he didn't like the way that Angel skirted around the issue of Cordelia - now that bit made him especially nervous, and he definitely didn't like the look in Angel's eyes when he touched his arm and finally made eye contact with him again.
But he forced something close to a reassuring grin anyway and clapped a hand on his friend's shoulder, then switching his expression to something more appropriately sympathetic, "I'm sorry ya had to see it, but it didn't happen. Let's go not to yer office, let's go elsewhere. We'll talk, but I swear, all o'this - fake. We'll figure it out." Doyle was glad that something he said convinced Angel of who he was, but that didn't mean he thought they should stay in this building a second longer than they absolutely had to. They'd have to come back, of course, to get Cordy. She'd probably squeal a helluva lot louder than Angel if she didn't believe them straight off, but he figured they could just drag her away and she'd thank them later.
It was disappointing, really. This wasn't at all the welcome he'd been expecting on his waterlogged walk home from the ocean. He figured that they'd be mourning him back at the office, be elated when they saw him walk through the door. Angel would praise him for doing the right thing, of course, and Cordy would (hopefully) throw herself at him. And no matter how tired he was feeling, he'd have probably found a way to clean himself up right then and take her out someplace nice. Things just hadn't happened that way, though. As soon as he saw Cordelia, he promised himself, he'd request those visions back. She'd give them back without hesitation, he figured, remembering now what she said at the bar not too long ago. She told him that if anyone had given her that gift, she'd give it right back. Well, now she could. It was a lapse of judgment on his part, anyway. Look what was happening!
