"Actually, I was referring to your friend Doyle," Wesley pointed out softly. "As you've told me yourself, Doyle was given those visions and sent to you by the Powers That Be, in order to cement and maintain your connection to your humanity, to your soul, in a way. Apparently that would mean they believe that having people around you, even people you care about, is an important part of maintaining who you are."
His brows rose nearly to his hairline when Angel mentioned distance, but whatever mildly sarcastic comment he was going to make was lost in the second revelation. "I'm sorry, you're going to have to repeat that. Spike left town... because of you?" He broke into a bit of a smile. "Well, that's good news. Pity you couldn't have figured out what to do to him before, and we could've gotten rid of him for you a lot earlier." He clapped Angel on the shoulder, and gave it a gentle squeeze. "You fix what you can, and work on the rest as it comes to you. And you let us help you."
