"Oh." Angel didn't know how to react to that. Usually when people wanted to 'have a talk' with you, it was not good news. But he and Giles weren't dating -- or even really close friends -- so it couldn't have been the break-up talk. What other kind of bad news was there? Had he decided not to try to forgive Angel after all? Maybe he'd realized he just couldn't get past being tortured and having the woman he loved killed by Angelus. It wasn't like Angel could have blamed him for that. No matter how different he was now, no matter how much he had changed, no matter how many times his soul had been restored in the interim between then and today, he still had Angelus's face. Giles would never be able to look at him and not be reminded of the awful things he had done while soulless. "Okay. Yeah, sure." Angel sat down at his desk and sighed. "Look, if you -- if you can't be around me anymore, I understand. I can't leave, but I'll do everything in my power to stay out of your life if that's what you want."
