Saying 'goodbye'... (Departure)

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
So much had happened in this place. She'd fallen in love and he'd disappeared. There'd been an explosion, where many were injured and over a dozen had people had died. People who wouldn't be going home.

Kitty Pryde had packed her things and left them on the bed in her room. Wearing denim and a dazed expression, she wandered the Residence, hoping to say 'goodbye' to the friends she had made Here. So many of them were from completely different universes that it was very unlikely they would ever see one another again.

At least the mystery of the waitstaff had been solved: Skrulls. Kitty hated Skrulls. All done now, though. All gone and sorted.

All that was left was memories. She took pictures with her cell phone as she walked along, wanting to show the team where she'd been all this time.

After a lot of photographs had been taken, including a few of some obliging people she'd met here who smiled and posed, Kitty wandered back to her room, strapped on her backpack of clothing and such that she'd acquired here, and picked up a tote back of special foods she'd gotten from one of the restaurants, as a surprise for the team.

Thinking of Tim Hunter and hoping that, wherever he was, he was safe, and hoping that Lee and Kara continued their relationship when they got home - and that Layla and Lucas would be able to stay together when they left Here - Kitty touched the cube.

Seconds later, she was in the main lobby of Xavier's mansion, a startled group of students gaping at her. She grinned.

She was home.

Tai Chi calms the soul, right? (Kitty Pryde/OTA)

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Who: Kitty Pryde and OTA.
Where: Side lawn of the Residence, just over there... no, the other side.
When: Let's narrow it down to a nice, autumn afternoon.
What: She's from the X-Men, so she's dealing with angst, because they're the best they are at what they do... ;)

[[ OOC: I'm having too much fun with this part, sorry. And Slow-Time, folks, as I seem to have very little time... ]]

Kitty Pryde was trying to accomplish several things at once. It shouldn't have been a problem, really. She was doing her Tai Chi on one of the side lawns in sweat pants and a T-shirt, hair in a ponytail, nothing to distract her. All she had to do was let the positions help her focus on her breathing, keep her thoughts clear -

And stop thinking about a guy made of magic who has disappeared...

She sighed. It wasn't working very well. She stopped, took a deep breath and let it out slowly before trying again.

LAKE PARTY!

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
For a dorky teen aged kid, Bobby has managed to set up quite an interesting array of stuff for the party (with the help of Residence staff members).

Let's get this party started! )

[[ooc: Regular party etiquette, all are welcome, thread hop, post in in several places to get the max amount of tags and fun out of it all!]]

Bobby is sitting on the grass in front of the residence in his ice form, making it snow around him. Not a lot was sticking to the ground at first, but he turns down the temperature a notch or two, and soon he is sitting in a nice circle of white.

Hagrid's a mummy, again!

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
The only odd thing Hagrid's noticed is a very odd machine rolling across the grass, apparently cutting it down to an even level. Someone he didn't recognize was riding on top of it, but then, strange things were the norm around here, so he left them to it.

He is too busy with his new arrival to care about anything else. He is sitting in a huge wooden chair in front of his hut, trying to tempt the tiny dragon with a dropperful of brandy, and cooing at him with misty eyes.

Cooking for Kitty: (Ooc plot locked please)

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Who: Lee Adama, Kara Thrace, Kitty Pryde
Where: Lee and Kara's suite

Lee has been busy in the Kitchen for several hours by this stage, desert is chilling and the roasted beef joint resting on the side. He looked at the clock things were nearly ready.

He allowed himeself a moment to breathe. He is a little jumpy. Kitty had become a really good friend to him since his and Kara's arrival Here. He wanted things to go well. He checks the place settings on the table and tries to stop faffing.

Kara is getting ready in the bedroom mainly to keep out of his way.

Lee checks the clock again, Kitty will be arriving soon.

"Kara," He calls. "You ready yet?"

"I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream..." - Kitty Pryde, OTA

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
It's a beautiful, sunny day, and for Kitty Pryde, that means summer, and summer means ice cream, and she hasn't had her 'first summer ice cream' yet, but that's going to change.

She's by the outdoor pool, because it's hot and what's the point of eating ice cream if you're cold? She's wearing the blue bikini she got from the Boutique ages ago, it seems, with a pair of navy shorts currently covering the bottoms. Her feet are bare and her hair is loose and a bit messy, but she doesn't care. She's sitting on one of the lawn chairs, a small tub of double chocolate mocha ice cream - with chocolate chips - which she ordered from one of the restaurants, on the chair between her legs, and a very, large spoon in one hand.

"Here's to summer," Kitty says aloud, even though she's by herself. She takes a big scoop of the ice cream and sticks it into her mouth.

[[ OOC: Meeting the Summer Modly Challenge, but as usual, SlowTime is inevitable. Thank you. :D ]]

OTA

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Kara sat beside the pool in a lounger, and examined the popsicle, something vaguely close to awe on her face.

Gods, since when did frakking flavoured ice become something amazing? She rolled her eyes at herself, unwrapped the treat, and popped it in her mouth.

It was good. Orange flavoured, and cold, and just perfect.

She hadn't had a popsicle since the last leave she was on before the worlds ended. A very very long time ago.

She sat by the pool, wearing a simple but relatively skimpy black bikini, and was really enjoying her popsicle. Maybe a little too much.

Mixed Leaves, OTA

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
The Doctor sits at a table covered with different types of teapots and several cups. He's sampling them all - one by one. Peppermint, Earl Grey, strawberry, chai, snozberry.

All the free radicals and tannins (not to mention the caffeine) have given him a pleasant buzz. He takes a sip of one tea, makes a disgusted face, and moves it to another table, then returns to try some more tea.

time to get drunk

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Where: the bar
Who: Lee OTA

He keeps on walking. Anger fuelling his actions just wanting to get away from Kara and her frakking stubborn pig-headedness for a few hours.

He was aware that he was just wearing a towel but there was not frakking way he was going back yet. In fact he did what any sane person would do, he went to the bar.

Lee sits himself on a stool at the bar and orders a whisky. He downs it pretty quickly grimacing at the burn on the way down and he orders another two.

"Frak it." He says to no one in particular as he starts on his second.

He's so angry at Starbuck, she said some really hurtful things, as had he for that matter and the only thing that could kill a guilty conscience was some hard drinking.

He finishes the second and starts on the third.

Lucas had headed down to the basketball court with his basketball in hand. It was a few days after the honeymoon had ended and he wanted to shoot some hoops. Layla was doing some research so he headed down on his own. He's been out there for about two hours already. He dribbled the ball, moving it under his legs a few times and then took a shot that soared through the hoop. He ran to grab the ball again.

OTA Lee working out

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Lee's hand is still a bit stiff after throwing a punch into the wall the first night Here, it isn't broken but its still a little stiff, kind of serves him right though. It doesn't matter that he isn't on Galactica at the moment, he needs to keep in shape and the gym at this place is great. He flexes his fingers before strapping the hand and wrist up.

The odd thing is he ponders as he warms up is how well things are going. He's been Here with Kara now for a few days and its almost as though they're living someone else's lives. He's happy though and Starbuck seems to be too and he smiles to himself as he finishes the warm up and heads towards the free weights.

He begins with some bicep curls and lets all thoughts escape him as he keeps his body in excellent shape.

Change of Seasons, Change of Heart - OTA

Add to Memories Tell a Friend

Who: Kitty Pryde and Anyone who'd like to poke her gently with a stick (yes, I'm on a roll with that one...)
When: After the seasons have changed.
Where: In the Woods.
Rating: PG, I would assume. Will alter if necessary, but her big, bad swear word is the occasional 'shit', so I think we'll be fine for now...
Summary: Kitty comes to the conclusion that she hasn't been 'sufficiently proactive'...

She has found the ideal tree for sitting in and thinking.

It isn't as if the tree wasn't already there, but it had been winter, and even a superhero has lines drawn in the sand when she had the choice about personal comfort. Snow is for forts and skating and then hot chocolate afterward. Everyone knew that. It wasn't a good time to be sitting in a tree.

Now today - today is a good time for sitting in a tree.

Kitty is glad she only has to wear jeans, a t-shirt, hoodie and sneakers. The change of seasons is welcome, and with it, she's decided she needs to explore Here with much more effort than she has before. She hasn't been 'sufficiently proactive', a phrase she could hear the Professor saying. If she finds a way out other than the Cube, all sorts of people will get to go home. She knows that many have tried, but she won't know for certain that it can't be done until she tries herself.

Tim has said that he'll go with her, when the time comes. She has absolutely nothing to lose.

Except that the sun is out, and everything is blooming, and she's comfortable.

Haul ass, Pryde.

Blix Bar: Around lunch time- OTA

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Rogue felt like her head was about to explode. She'd been Here for a short while and already the days were starting to blend together. In a kinda scary way. And she'd met the woman who, in her world, was one of her biggest rivals. So she was doing what any sane woman would be doing in her situation- she was in the bar, getting slowly drunk. She was on her second bourbon and grudgingly impressed with how good it was.

Not that that's a reason ta stay here...

She really just wanted to go home, maybe beat up a few Sentinels. That always made her feel good.

Ah, screw it, Ah'm stuck here for now, might as well make the most of it.... Wonder if Belladonna's around for me ta smack around some...

That thought made her grin slightly as she downed her drink and ordered another.

Fitness Centre: late evening- OTA

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Faith was in the Fitness Centre, seeing how far she could push her healed up body. Being a Slayer rocked, her broken ribs had healed up so much faster than a humans. But, like anyone else, she still needed some physio to get the muscles back to full working order and this was the first chance she'd had to really try some training.

After some cardio work she moved to the centre of the room, focusing on her breathing, before beginning on her Tai Chi routine, hoping to both stretch her body and calm her mind, which was still all over the place, for so many reasons. Never good. That way led to going crazy. So she was really hoping someone would come along to distract her some before her thoughts got too weird.

KUBE, Trial run. OTA

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Tim has been, well, bored lately. It's generally a bad idea for Tim to get bored. Last time he did, he created the skate rugs. This time...

He waits for sunset. It seems like it'll be the most dramatic time of day for this specific adventure. Anyone who cares to look will see our dear sweet Tim outside, trudging through the snow with a grin on his face.

Taking his place at the edge of the lake, away from the boathouse and new ship, Tim slips out his wand. (Six inches, black oak, core made from the hair of a god. Remember, it's not the size of the wand, it's how you use it.) He frowns for a moment at the lake, then smiles. He raises the wand, grinning.

To anyone in the residence, the sound of instruments tuning up will be heard. Anyone who ignores them will not hear anything else that transpires, but anyone who listens in will find the following piece broadcasting from any glass surface. Fun with magic.

The music plays for a few moments, allowing people to tune in or out as they wish, before the words begin pouring forth. Tims wand moves in time to the music.

Is this the real life- Is this just fantasy- Caught in a landslide- No escape from reality- Open your eyes Look up to the skies and see- I'm just a poor boy,i need no sympathy- Because I'm easy come, easy go, A little high, little low, Anyway the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me, To me

Even as Tim gestures, the words pour forth from the various surfaces, mirrors, windows and the like, as good as Freddie Mercury ever sang it. In the lake, the water is moving, not in a gentle current, but building up. Humps of water raise upwards a good five feet before sliding back down to normal. Columns rise upwards to rotate and then fade away, all in time to the steady music.

(Tim, of course, makes sure not to disturb anyone who might be on the lake. He is polite.)

Mama, just killed a man, Put a gun against his head, Pulled my trigger, now hes dead, Mama, life had just begun, But now I've gone and thrown it all away- Mama ooo, Didn't mean to make you cry- If I'm not back again this time tomorrow- Carry on,carry on,as if nothing really matters-

The song is more then just words now. Tim is pouring everything into it Letting all the emotion this song needs to contain into it. If one closes ones eyes, they might almost see the scenes being described, understanding how someone could come to such a sorry state.

Too late,my time has come, Sends shivers down my spine- Bodys aching all the time, Goodbye everybody-I've got to go- Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth- Mama ooo- (any way the wind blows) I don't want to die, I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all-

And this next bit take the emotions up a step, not so sad anymore, maybe a ray of hope shining through. The water becomes a little more regimented, squares of water popping up to the music, forming complex patterns that might just be chaos at work. And always the showman, Tim lets a bolt of lighting cross the sky when it's mentioned.

I see a little silhouetto of a man, Scaramouche, scaramouche will you do the fandango- Thunderbolt and lightning-very very frightening me- Galileo, galileo, Galileo galileo Galileo figaro-magnifico- But I'm just a poor boy and nobody loves me- He's just a poor boy from a poor family- Spare him his life from this monstrosity- Easy come easy go-,will you let me go- Bismillah! no-,we will not let you go-let him go- Bismillah! we will not let you go-let him go Bismillah! we will not let you go-let me go Will not let you go-let me go Will not let you go let me go no, no, no, no, no, no, no- Mama mia, mama mia, mama mia let me go- Beelzebub has a devil put aside for me,for me,for me-

For a moment, there is quiet. Just long enough for anyone not familiar with the song to think it's over.

Tim uses that moment to remove his sunglasses, storing them in a pocket. A slow grin makes it's way onto his face, one might even say an evil grin. Then he throws the horns with his free hand, his wand darting out to encourage the water into a fierce and wild dance to celebrate the end of the song. Hell, he even throws in some headbanging.

So you think you can stone me and spit in my eye-
So you think you can love me and leave me to die-
Oh baby-cant do this to me baby-
Just gotta get out-just gotta get right outta here-

Nothing really matters,
Anyone can see,
Nothing really matters-,nothing really matters to me..

And with that everything is calm. Which is when Tim takes the opurtunity to let everyone know what the hell is going on. "Ladies and gentlemen of Here, that was Bohemian Rhapsody by none other then Queen. And me? Well, I'm Tim Hunter rocking out here on Kay You Bee Eee, the Kube, a completely unofficial radio station for Here. If you want to request a song, just say Tim, and make your request, and I'll see about getting it out there for everyone to hear. Got a question to put to the general populace of Here? Go ahead and say Tim and ask your question. In fact, feel free to try anything here! This is a brand new show, we love call ins, and your participation, and well, interest, will decide whether I do this again."

Tim sits back, gazing up at the residence, still broadcasting. "So , people of the Residence, what do YOU wanna here? I'm Tim Hunter, and I'll be here 'till either everyone tells me to shut up, or the Manager shuts me down. Gimme a call, we'll get things done. Next up on the play list, we have a favorite of mine, Baby Got Back, by Sir Mix a lot! Oh, and hold on just a minute..."

Tim slips his sunglasses back on with a grin and a nod. An alarm spell is going off. Excellent. "Little birdie just whispered in my ear, we've got phone lines home open for the next five minutes, so make your calls home, then give me a call, and we'll chat!"

((OOC:totally just doing this to see what comes of it. Thread hopping encouraged, feel free to make what use of this you want to.))

Lucas sat on the floor in the library reading a book, Julius Cesar. He smiled fondly remembering when his mom and Haley had given had a copy of it.

There is a tide in the affairs of men, which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat. And we must take the current when it serves, or lose the ventures.

Dealing With It - OTA

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Who: Kitty Pryde - Open to All
Where: The Pantry Restaurant.
When: A few days after the funeral.
Rating: PG (?)

"A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles."

- Christopher Reeve, American Actor, Film Director, Activist, 1952  - 2004

Kitty Pryde sits alone in the restaurant that has the most casual feel to it: bamboo chairs with nice cushions, wainscoting, dusky-rose walls. There are table cloths and linen napkins, but nothing fancy. It isn't easy to relax completely - since the explosion, every loud sound is a potential attack - and there are some rooms that just don't feel right, though she doesn't know why.

She hasn't been back to the game's room since that freaky experience she and Remy had witnessed, where the billiard balls had moved by themselves.

Before her is a plate with scones and clotted cream and strawberry preserve: an interpretation of a British tea. A large pot of tea is steeping next to the plate, and while she waits, she tries to focus on the book she's reading: 'Pride & Prejudice', by Jane Austen. She'd first read it when she was eleven, and knew she'd enjoy it. Something light but fun, something to take her away for a bit. It went very well with the tea, too.

There were so many people she hadn't been able to help. She's delighted beyond words that she was there for Layla and Lucas, and thanks God she heard the scream and arrived when she did. But she's a superhero, dammit, and they're supposed to be able to do more. Even with all her years of experience - she has been doing this since she was thirteen-and-a-half - she still expects more from herself during a crisis.

She sighs and tries to get lost in a different century, where, in some social circles, who you married was more important than who you loved.

After the last person has gotten out, or, at the very least, gotten into a stable part of the Residence, Tim feels it is finally safe to drop his load. Slowly, carefully, he eases the magic down, letting the full weight rest upon the ground. This, of course, results in quite a bit more damage to the residence, as everything collapses in upon itself.

Tim makes his ways through the tunnels, clearing out an area for him to walk in. It is as he does this that he notices the cape, in the rubble. Hurriedly clearing away debris, Tim drops to his knees, hoping against hope that he's wrong, hoping there is life here.

Some small time later, a portion of the lawn swings upwards, revealing a dusty, dirty Tim, holding in his arms the corpse of the Phantom of the Opera.
