Who: Emmeline Vance, Alexander Greengrass When: Thursday evening. Where: The Ministry, then out for drinks. What: Drinks with coworkers. Rating: TBD Open/Closed: Closed, unless other Unspeakables want to come by.
Emmeline hadn't had a good day. The report about Babbling hadn't gone unnoticed, and neither she nor any of the other Order members were happy about it, or how easily it was being believed. She couldn't say anything publicly of course, but it was a genuine pity. She had respected the Professor, and Emmeline had been around for enough of the first wizarding war to know that this was likely an uncomfortable precursor to worse things to come. On top of that, she really had been in meetings most of the day, and the mind numbing boring and mediocrity of the day-to-day paper pushing at the Ministry never failed to annoy her, though she was too much a professional to show it.
By the time the end of the day dragged around, Emmeline couldn't help but be glad she'd agreed to drinks with Alexander. She knew well enough not to trust her coworkers too far, but she did try to be friendly and get along and went along when they went for drinks now and then, even if she sometimes felt like she was a bit too old to do so.
She was determined to ignore that for an evening at least. Drinks with a coworker, and an attractive and flattering one at that, would be a well deserved balm after the day she'd had, Emme told herself. Nevermind if she was a good few years his senior.
She was running a few minutes late, simply because her last meeting ran long, but she hurried down and offered an apologetic smile when she spotted Alexander waiting. "I'm sorry, they refused to stop talking for ages," she apologized. "You haven't been waiting long, I hope?"
