Even though he didn't want the hug to end, Dean knew that it eventually had to. It had made him realize how much he did miss Demelza. Sure, he had noticed it prior to meeting up with her at the Leaky Cauldron, but it felt different now that they were standing near each other. There were times that he had wondered if breaking up with her had been the right choice. And the nagging question of where would they be at that very moment. It was a question that ran though his mind the weeks that they had been a part, not keeping in contact in the slightest, but Dean knew that it was the best thing for them in the long run, especially since he had thought about Ginny every once in a while too. It gave him an opportunity to notice other women as well, never regretting his time with the one in front of him. And no matter how much his hormones had raced and ached for her, he was grateful t have her in his life then not at all.
"Dean, eh? Sounds like an awesome bloke. An attractive one as well," he answered as an easy smirk spread across his features. It was a relief that their good-natured conversation through journals seemed to be showing fully in person as well, thankful that it didn't start out as an awkward greeting. That wasn't something he wanted, so how they were speaking to each other had been good for him. "Well, you're in luck. I'm here to unbore you. And you know fully well that I'm great at that." As the words had rushed out of his mouth, Dean realized how it could have been taken, widening his eyes a little bit. If he knew her as well as he thought he had, she would have caught the slip meaning too.
It hadn't taken him much longer to order himself a butterbeer in hopes that it would ease the situation once again. "How about we find an empty booth, and I'll tell you anything you'd like," he answered for a moment, before realizing the questions Demelza was liable to ask, which included the reason behind their break up in the first place. With a smooth movement, Dean had plucked the blonde's glass from her grasp and wandered just a few seconds before catching sight on what he wanted, placing the glasses down with a glance over his shoulder at the company.
