"Is that so?" he asked in return with a smirk spreading across his features. It had been a long while since they had spoken to each other, inching closer by responding through journals, but Dean was glad that they could meet up with a good start. Just because they had broken their relationship, it didn't meant that they had to stop being friends. He knew that giving her space after the event was best for the whole healing process, even though a part of him barely wanted to release her in the slightest. The words that were about to escape from his lips had been been placed on hold, especially since Demelza had pulled him close for an embrace.
Merlin, did she still feel great. It hadn't taken him too much longer to notice that small fact as his arms had wrapped around her for the return hug. There had only been a few seconds in between that he was able to take a deep breath in of her amazing scent, even the height difference barely mattered. All he had to do was hope that his nerves would suppress eventually throughout their time together. It didn't help that he had expected the blonde to take a hold of his hand after being in close proximity to each other. Not to mention that he had pictured snogging her shortly after. "Now, who's spreading rumors about my brothers?" he laughed, unable to hold the serious expression remain on his features. "Yeah, you know them. Most of the time, they're a pain, but that's how they are. And how have you been?" It had only taken him a few seconds longer to order a butterbeer with every intention of paying for Demelza's drink as well.
