As Demelza had shown how angry she was at his admittance, Dean leaned back slightly with a confused expression plastered all over his face. His words were clearly not clear enough. That was something the got right away, especially as the swear word was tossed in his direction. Feeling a bit self-conscious, he glanced around to see if anyone had noticed that they had changed their emotions entirely in a split second. Dean's words were meant to explain what was going on currently with him. It wasn't as though he didn't appreciate the kiss, since it gave him a bit of insight that their break up was the right to do with the lack of spark coming from his side. However, Demelza had blown it out of proportion as well. She didn't let him even explain much of anything anymore, as she decided to storm out of the pub.
It hadn't taken Dean too much longer to scoot himself out of the booth and follow her directly out of the building. He wasn't about to let their friendship end because of a misunderstanding. The reason that he broke up with her had been similar, but no where as near as bad as Demelza had claimed it to be. Assumptions. That was something that Dean always tried his best not to think of as a whole. Of course, they were inevitable during a good amount of situations, but who he was as a person felt hurt. Unsure, how he would even begin to explain and change the blonde's mind was a puzzle, but he was damn well was going to try to make the situation better.
Rushing up to catch her easily because of his height and more area he can taken up in a short amount of time, Dean grabbed her just above the elbow. He had wanted to pull her back towards him, but ended up swinging his entire body in front of her. "Whoa, whoa whoa! Hold on here, Dem. You're not thinking rationally. After all we've been through, you'd honestly think that I would do those things to you? This is me you're talking about. And I wouldn't be here right now trying to make everything better if I didn't care," he said, keeping his gaze locked upon her. She had been wrong about a good majority of the thoughts that she spewed out. Within their intimate moments, Dean thought of her and only her alone. It was bloody too hard to think of anything else but her. The only times that he thought about Ginny was went he was alone, and not spending those moments with his girlfriend at the time. Of course, those times were enough to bring an end to their relationship.
"I was talking about right now. Not then," he replied to his own words, knowing that cleared up the misunderstanding. It had to, right? They hadn't seen each other for an entire month. It was enough time to be checking out other options. That didn't mean he acted on any of his thoughts though.
