Dean usually did pay more attention to everything around him, but he supposed that being lost in one's thoughts tended to slip in when one least expected it. That was the reason for his lack of attentiveness for the day. Ice cream vaguely on his thoughts, but mostly his mind had ventured off on it's own and collided with a solid bit of furniture that he had expected to be farther away. With a small smile on his face, he nodded slightly. "Yeah, I wasn't really paying attention. Sorry about that," he answered lightly, unsure on the obviously younger girl's name was exactly.
"Um," he added slightly with a tilt of his head. "I'd say your name, but I can't seem to remember it." The house was almost obvious. Dean was sure that she was in Slytherin, which he wasn't just assuming or taking physical appearances at that moment. If there was one thing that was something that all could realize easily, he never discriminated between houses. That didn't change the fact that he couldn't place her name. No one could blame him though, especially since she was younger than him. It was unacceptable if she was a member of his own house. Once you lived with someone for at least a year, there was no way that they could forget one another, even with the holidays as well. "No offense, yeah?"
